Less tech, more life this week. I’m on vacation this week, and I had “plans”. That’s not happened, which is a shame. I don’t think that the videos I had planned are going to come to fruition…
But the reason they didn’t happen is a good one, instead we are doing a deep spring clean, which means that I should be able to get my Studio tidy sooner rather than later. Yay!
Basically, the amount of crud that accumulates over time is horrendous. In the garage, in the studio, in the junk room. Old boxes that I no longer need, gone. Electronics on the to fix pile (that I know I will never get to): gone.
All of the junk in the garage that hasn’t been used for years: gone.
The only thing that we are keeping are tools. Even the shelving (which is starting to go rotten) is being thrown away.
This should open the doors to a few summer projects:
- Building a new bedroom for my son
- Finishing the studio so that I can move in it, and it can serve its purpose
- Having a garage that I can move in (and fit my car back into)
The chances are that I am going to need to hire someone for 2 of those jobs with my health, but the studio should be doable at least.
Just to make sure that there is some tech in here: I have also been doing the same spring clean to my GitHub repo and Azure subscriptions.
I was struggling to find important things in the forest of all those demo and test resources that I created. I also found out that I was up against my limit (eek), for Azure Static Web Apps.
So… All those test resources that I no longer use: gone.
And tried to do the same thing for my GitHub repos as well. I didn’t want to throw anything away – it’s a history of my learning. But I have gone through and removed anything that was a test; and archived anything that was used for learning.
Come on summer, I’m about ready now!
